I have lost count of how many times I tried to start blogging. I have fallen into the trap of perfectionism: looking at the ideal post, framework, hosting, and logo. You named it. It is a common problem, fear of failing, and impostor syndrome.
This is also the case for my indie journey (or the lack of it). I have several ideas that I would like to fulfill, but I always find excuses to delay what I want to do, and I occasionally feel guilty.
It is not easy; having a full-time job as an iOS engineer, a wonderful wife, and a kid makes having free time something tricky.
The key is that I enjoy technology and tinkering with ideas, which is a way of entertainment for me. I have a blast creating new things. I could try to replace TV, movies, and gaming with indie development and only do those activities while sharing quality time with others, especially my family.
I’m also planning to create a monthly digest post to share my current status and links that caught my attention on the Internet. It will force me to be accountable and improve my motivation.
Of course, I will continue to procrastinate a lot, but let’s give the indie development a real chance this time.
See you around!!
